Les Frivoles

Trade created in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet in Tain-l’Hermitage which he quickly extended to Burgundy. His son Henry created in 1884 an establishment in Beaune, by adding the name of his wife (Vercherre) to his own. The House of Jaboulet Vercherre was taken over in 2002 by the Domaine Louis Max and moved to Nuits-Saint-Georges.

The Chambolle-Musigny is often presented as the most ‘feminine’ of the Côte de Nuits. The intensity and finesse are indeed expressed with an elegant subtlety. This vintage 1994, with its vivid ruby look is adorned with brilliant and luminous reflections. It has darkened a little with the years, while keeping its brilliance. The violet, the small red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) that made its bouquet in its youth evolved into the spicy ripe fruit, the prune, the truffle, the undergrowth and the animal. Rich, ibex and complex, this wine lines the palate with silk and lace. Its fleshy delicacy does not prevent it from maintaining a solid and durable structure. Quite mellow, little focused on acidity, its tannins remain caressing.
