Dom Pérignon

The year 1804 marks the beginning of an era of uninterrupted commercial success for Moët & Chandon, whose reputation is now worldwide. Dom Pérignon”, the house’s prestigious cuvée, is certainly the most famous champagne in the world.   The House began to market its cuvées from 1936 and enjoyed immediate worldwide success. The characteristic bottle, shaped like an 18th century bottle, is made only in the best years. The volume of bottles of Dom Pérignon produced is a secret jealously guarded by the LVMH group, today owner of the house Moët et Chandon.

Dom Pérignon 1998 is a blend of Chardonnay (58%) and Pinot noir (42%). The nose opens with fragrances of fresh almond and grapefruit, then reveals subtle notes of cashew and spice mixed with a touch of brioche slightly toasted.  In the mouth, a sensation of movement like a satin that rolls and unfolds to the rhythm of the waves is created and gently caresses the palate. A moment of weightlessness and the wine melts in the mouth to finish on a vibrant final note, with a controlled ardor. The length of Dom Pérignon’s Vintage 1998 is exceptional, underlined by a dash of bitterness.
