Located a stone’s throw from the Grands Crus Classés of Château du Tertre and Château Giscours, Château Monbrison has nothing to envy to its illustrious neighbours whose remarkable terroir is similar to that of Graves. The vineyard of the estate extends over 15 hectares. Very appreciated by amateurs since the mid-1980s, Château Monbrison has shown a spectacular growth since 1995, thanks to the approach initiated by the former owner Jean-Luc Vonderheyden, now deceased as his brother Laurent Vonderheyden, current owner, has committed to pursue.
Behind its dark garnet color, we discover a 2005 vintage with warm bouquet and still marked, despite the years, by the merrain where black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) point. The mouth remains firm and pleasant thanks to its flavors of crunchy red fruits and licorice. Already very pleasant when young, this 2005 vintage is ready to drink.
