Les Jalets
Both producer and merchant, the Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné was founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet. It then passed into the hands of his sons Paul and Henry, before being passed down from generation to generation. In January 2006, the Frey family, winemaker from Champagne and owner of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux, took over the house Paul Jaboulet Aîné.
The Crozes-Hermitage “Les Jalets” comes from the terraced vineyards of Chassis, named after the pebbles deposited by alpine glaciers, reminiscent of those of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
A 2011 vintage accessible and expressive with a beautiful ruby red color, brilliant with purple reflections. The nose is intense with black fruits, violet and pepper. The mouth is supple, fresh, with fine tannins, with a spicy finish. A balanced wine, typical of the Syrah from the north of the Rhone Valley.
