Founded in 1859 by Evgueni Louis Max in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Maison Louis Max is today one of the largest estates in Burgundy. The Louis Max estate extends over twenty hectares spread over the most prestigious appellations of Burgundy. Now owned by the Geneva businessman Stanko Subotic, lovers of the Maison Louis Max and Nuits-Saint-Georges, the estate strives to strive every year for excellence in the making of its wines. Regularly cited by the greatest international critics and journalists, the wines of the Maison Louis Max embody the excellence of Burgundy and are renowned worldwide.

 

The 1988 vintage has a beautiful color, an intense fruity nose, with a bouquet of ripe black fruits. Very pleasant mouth with ripe tannins, raised with a hint of acidity.
