L’Esprit de Chevalier

Born in 1989, the Second Vin, called «l’Esprit de Chevalier», is the embodiment of a selective approach to harvest (up to five successive sorts of grapes according to the evolution of maturity). During the blends, the Domaine de Chevalier mainly includes the harvest from young vines as well as vintages that do not have quite the structure and precision for the Grand Cru Classé de Graves.

This 1999 vintage is distinguished by its exceptional aromatic complexity. Ultra fragrant, the bouquet combines the powerful fruity imprint of Cabernet Sauvignon with the sweetness of spicy notes revealing smoky notes while the palate is charmed by a beautifully structured silky mouth, showing a fused and coated tannin texture revealing the lustre and mellowness of the fruit. Prodigious wine of guard, it is at maturity, keeping this balance and freshness of the fruit.
