Les Raisins Oubliés
In 1938, a small group of winemaker friends decided to optimize their development with a common winemaking tool. They created the Cave coopérative de Sigoulès and harvested their first harvest in 1939. Today, the 3rd generation of winemakers carries high the values of the cooperative and the quality of its wines, the result of the association between technology and traditional know-how. Located south of Bergerac, on the hillsides between the villages of Sigoulès and Eymet, the vineyard of the Cave de Sigoulès extends over about 900 hectares.
This wine is from a late harvest, the manual harvest is the subject of several successive sorting meticulous. The berries are then pneumatically pressed before a gentle and controlled fermentation. The wine is then aged one year in contact with wood.
This 2008 vintage has a clear brilliant gold colour. A charming nose dominated by white fruits (pears and candied apples). The palate is full and smooth, revealing the complexity of this wine. Notes of vine peach and citrus (tangerine) are added. A nice balance between sweetness and acidity makes it a very original «Côtes de Bergerac Blanc».
