E. Guigal – Brune et Blonde

The Côte-Rôtie vineyard is divided between the Côte Brune, upstream of the Reynard stream and the Côte Blonde, located downstream. In the Middle Ages, it is said that Lord Maugiron shared his property between his two daughters, one brunette and the other blonde, whose names remained associated with wines.

The E. Guigal estate was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, who arrived in the region in 1923 and who worked to the development of the appellation de Côte-Rôtie. Today, the succession is ensured by Philippe Guigal, the grandson of Etienne, brilliant oenologist and proud representative of the 3rd generation.

This 2018 vintage is distinguished by a dark and deep color. This wine develops delicate aromas of spices, raspberry, blackberry and vanilla. Long in the mouth, it has a tannic structure that will allow it a great ability to age.
