Domaine Sainte Catherine

Domaine Sainte Catherine is a small winery, created in 1984 by Aline and Jean-Noel. Over the years, they have worked in a reasoned way, both on the farm. They remained Independent Winemakers in order to maintain harmony between the land, the vineyard and the wine. Today, with experience, they do their job as winemakers without the passion and respect for nature.

Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume is a small enclave of 78ha in the Coteaux du Layon appellation. The AOC was recognized by Decree in 2011. The wines come from parcels delimited around the hamlet of Chaume on the territory of the town of Rochefort sur Loire.

This 2005 vintage has a color that evolves on the old gold with amber reflections. Intense and complex nose, aromas of candied fruits and citrus and exotic fruits. It reveals notes of precious wood, dried or candied fruits, honey, toasted almonds and are generally marked with a strong minerality. The palate is powerful and opulent with a strong feeling of fat, it makes this sweet a model of balance between mellow and vivacity.
