Bonnezeaux

Domaine Renou

1999

Half Bottle (0,50L)
White
Mellow

Former President of the INAO from 1999 to its disappearance in 2006 and the Bonnezeaux appellation, René Renou was known for his involvement in the promotion of the terroir of the Loire Valley and for his work as a winemaker on his 8 hectares of vines where he produced refined white wines. This renowned personality of the wine world has worked for many years to improve the system of appellations.

The Renou estate, located in Anjou in the commune of Thouarcé in the Bonnezeaux appellation, had a vineyard with an average age of 45 years facing south. On this terroir, the grape varieties brought to the quintescence, gave birth to soft and sweet white wines of very good quality and great aging potential.

This 1999 vintage has a slightly amber straw yellow colour. This wine delivers scents of good intensity, floral (white flowers) and fruity (white peach), and favors elegance rather than opulence. The attack is supple, fine, distinguished, and the long finish reveals an overripened and perfectly sorted grape.
