The Gonon brothers carry out colossal work in the vineyards on their steep hillsides. A real garden where everything is done by hand with the greatest respect for life. For the work of the grounds, Samson comes to their aid, a powerful working horse comtois. This cuvée comes from Syrah vines about 40 years old, planted on granite terraces with steep slopes. The aging is carried out in barrels of 1 to 2 wines, for 18 months.

Bright and deep, the color of this vintage 2016 is slightly ruby-grenate. Typical of the Gonon brothers’ style, the smoky and violet notes are unveiled with some peppery touches. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberries and cherry bring gourmandise to the bouquet. The attack on the palate is powerful with a full texture and a mid-palate characterized by an incredible minerality that translates into great freshness. The mouth presents a superb balance structured by fine and elegant tannins. Long and spicy final that once again places the Domaine Gonon at the top of the Saint-Joseph poster!
