When Pierre Gaillard arrived in 1981 in Malleval, everything remained to be done. He began by clearing and planting his first vines at the Clos de Cuminaille on the Saint-Joseph appellation. Since then, he has built with his own hands a 25-hectare vineyard on the steepest hillsides of the northern Rhône valley. Considered by his peers and seasoned tasters as a reference in the northern Rhone Valley, Pierre now works closely with his three children.
This 2003 vintage has a golden color, brilliant in a gold tone, with green and silver shades on the edge of the glass. The nose is fine, mineral with subtle aromas of peach, vanilla, apricot, acacia and candied citrus. On the palate, the attack is syrupy and honeyed with fruit flavours compoted and candied. The finish is mineral.
