Cécile Jean represents the ninth generation on the family estate. She is the first woman to have taken the helm. We are here north of Saint-Émilion, on a rather fresh terroir, which is well suited to the great vintages.
The 2013 vintage was described as mediocre. Some Bordeaux castles did not market their wine that year, at least not their first wine. The quality of a vintage depends very much on the ability of men to limit the effects of natural whims. This 2013 vintage is not worse, nor better than 2011 and 2012 because Cécile jean has put a lot of means to make a great wine. This wine offers the nose a nice fruity freshness, accompanied by subtle empyreumatic notes. The mouth is powerful, warm without being burning as was sometimes the case in this other vintage. It is round without being heavy, tannic without being brutal. In short, a harmonious wine, racy and armed for a long storage.
