Domaine Jacques Maumus

Cru du Paradis is a family property created in 1918 and since 1979 operated by Jacques Maumus who remodelled and enlarged the vineyard from 7 ha to 27 ha. This one spreads over the communes of Saint Lanne and Madiran on clay soils – limestone and gravel with a south-south west exposure for most of the plots.

Cru du Paradis corresponds to the cadastral name of the land it cultivates and which is part of the AOC Madiran, a appellation recognized since 1948 that is characterized by a year of mandatory aging and necessary before sale.

This 2000 vintage comes from a blend of 3 grape varieties: Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It is a generous wine, fruity and tannic. Featuring a pretty dress with dark ruby garnet hue, it is fine and harmonious. The finesse and charm of its fruit bouquet, the subtlety of the flavors and the harmonious combination of aromas give this wine the elegance of the greatest.
