Bernard Gros considerably expanded the estate by planting 12 hectares of tall vines on the hamlet of Concœur-et-Corboin (on the heights above Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée), also renowned for its production of blackcurrants and other small red fruits. Among these 12 hectares, 9 are planted with pinot noir grapes and therefore allow the elaboration of very generous vintages.
This 2006 vintage has a deep purple color in its early years. The wine exudes aromas of red and black fruits and spicy notes (nutmeg, cloves, liquorice, pepper). Typical of Vosne-Romanée, the palate is particularly smooth, its texture is velvet but the power and depth are not very far. One could compare this wine to an iron hand in a velvet glove. Its aromatic is concentrated and presents a beautiful complexity, notes of raspberry and blackcurrant blend with nutmeg and cloves on the finish.
