Les Arpents du Soleil

In the heart of Normandy, near Saint Pierre sur Dives, are the Arpents du Soleil. A warm, dry microclimate, a south-facing hillside and exceptional soil worthy of the finest wines explain their success. From medieval times to the end of the 18th century, a vineyard already flourished there. The ancients, with their innate sense of nature, called this ideally exposed site «The Sun».
Gérard SAMSON is the passionate winemaker. After a solid training, theoretical and practical, in Burgundy, he travelled through France and Europe to discover the secrets of the best terroirs.
Since the 2009 vintage, all vintages are made of Calvados PGI. With a great complexity and great ageing potential, the wines will improve over the years. Over time, the wines metamorphose and the fruity aromas of their youth give way to mineral aromas, sweet spices, honey, for whites, and spices, licorice, faded rose for reds, signatures of the terroir.
