Domaine des Forges

It is in the heart of Anjou, between Loire and Layon, that the passion has been transmitted for 5 generations. In the village of Saint-Aubin de Luigné, nicknamed the Perle du Layon, Stéphane and Séverine Branchereau are passionate about cultivating, vinifiing and raising the great wines of the Loire Valley, between intuition of traditions and sense of innovation. On 47 hectares, the Domaine des Forges develops an environmentally friendly approach, certified HVE, and a taste for excellence that applies to all vintages, entirely harvested by hand.

The 1996 vintage is a mellow wine of great complexity. The grapes, exclusively from the Chenin blanc grape variety, are harvested by successive sorting once the noble rot is perfectly developed. It has a beautiful pale gold color, sometimes pulling on the green where the aromas of peach, apricot, honey and acacia mingle. It is famous for its roundness, suppleness and fullness. Its aging capacity is exceptional.
