Pessac Léognan Grand Cru Classé

Domaine de Chevalier

2012

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier is at the top of Bordeaux’s greatest Crus Classés. The estate takes place in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in a green setting south of Bordeaux and overlooks a rare vineyard with 45 hectares of vines dedicated to red wine.

Fruit of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%) and Petit Verdot (5%), this 2012 vintage reveals a beautiful intensity. Generous, the nose exhales fruity fragrances (red and black fruits) and spicy (pepper). As you aerate, the freshness is supported by subtle minty mineral notes. Ample and unctuous, the mouth seduces with its fruity expression, its ripe and supple tannins. Ideally combining finesse and complexity, the enveloping palate is supported by a tasty acidity. The attack combines freshness with a bright fruit. The finish is persistent, concentrated and racy.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Domaine de Chevalier 2012 rated 92/100.
