With very ancient origins, the Clos René was formerly called «Reney» on the map of the engineer-geographer Pierre de Belleyme. The estate has been in the hands of the same family for several generations. It is now managed by Jean-Marie Garde.
The 2009 vintage is the result of a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc with a touch of malbec. The color of a bright ruby, this wine reveals a remarkable nose with some fresh notes of blackcurrant bud and spices. It is more open in the mouth, supple, fruity, oaky with finesse, well structured and long. This pomerol is a particularly attractive wine.
