Clos de l’Oratoire des Papes

Created in 1880, the Clos de l’Oratoire des Papes is a mythical wine of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The story begins when Edouard Amouroux, through his marriage, receives the famous vineyard plot located on the locality Tresquoy. The property owes its name to the Oratory dedicated to Saint Mark which is erected at the edge of the plot.

Only 5% of the Châteauneuf terroir produces white wine. Here 2 plots of limestone shards are at the origin of this wine whose rarity is matched only by finesse.

This 2022 vintage has an intense yellow colour with light green highlights. The nose expresses notes of pear and hawthorn, then develop notes of white flowers and a hint of flint. The palate reveals its terroir of pure limestone with a mineral and saline frame. In the final, small bitters give a unique dimension to the tasting.
