Saint Emilion Grand Cru

Château Vieux Fortin

1997

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

Ideally located northwest of the village of Saint-Émilion, Château Vieux-Fortin is a historic estate located between the great stars of the region such as Château Figeac and Château Cheval Blanc, and close to Château La Dominique. Its former owner Claude Sellan gave it to Clément Fayat in 2009.

Château Vieux-Fortin produces good wines of long-term preservation.

The 1997 vintage is made up of Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Franc (40%), with a deep, intense garnet colour, followed by a bouquet of toast and roasted coffee, with some notes of black fruit. The palate is ample, dense and powerful, with firm but elegant tannins that persist long in the finish.
