The Château Pontet-Canet, run by the Tesseron family and led by its famous manager Jean-Michel Comme becomes year after year one of the most beautiful labels on the left bank of Bordeaux. But in addition to being a high quality Pauillac it is also a castle that moves the lines in a world of great wines sometimes reluctant to change.
This 2002 vintage reveals the characteristics of very large Pauillacs: concentration, and complex aromas of cedar and black fruits. Over the years, this wine has gained in freshness and balance, revealing notes of red fruits and sour cherry. The mouth is sublime, a breed apart, with a silky expression almost Burgundy.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château Pontet Canet 2002 rated 88/100
