Located 15 km from Bordeaux, in the southern part of the appellation, the vineyards of Château Larrivet-Haut-Brion adjoin those of Château Haut-Bailly. The name of the domain has undergone many changes over the two centuries of its history. In 1949, it takes its current name: château Larrivet Haut-Brion, but it is under the impetus of Christine and Philippe Gervoson that the estate is reconstituted, by the acquisition of original plots. Significant investments are made, and the wines gradually regain their former quality. From 1996, the beautiful vintages follow one another and the terroir expresses itself fully again.
This vintage sports a beautiful clear crystalline gold color. The nose is intense with notes of yellow fruits and spices. It becomes more complex with honeyed and citrus notes. The palate is powerful, with a broad attack with fruity aromas. The finish is fresh and mineral.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château Larrivet Haut Brion 2009 rated 92/100.
