Château Giscours, 3rd Grand Cru Classé 1855 and icon of the Médoc, offers a great wine reflecting the so famous terroir of Margaux.
After family and financial difficulties, the property was taken over by the Dutch businessman Eric Albada-Jelgersma in 1995. Since then, under the direction of the passionate Alexander Van Beek, this 3rd Grand Cru Classé has regained its letters of nobility thanks to considerable work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
This 2007 vintage stands out for its beautiful dark garnet color, which begins to tend towards amber. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of black fruits such as blueberry and sour cherry, as well as a slight woody touch. On the palate, it offers a nice length and great finesse that perfectly reflects the quality of its terroir.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château Giscours 2007 rated 88/100.
