Saussignac

Château Gageac Monplaisir

2000

Bottle (0,75L)
White
Mellow

The British, David and Helen Baxter settled in 1997 on this estate commissioned by a small mansion in the early twentieth century.

The Saussignac vineyard is located on the left bank of the Dordogne near Monbazillac and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, southwest of Bergerac.

This 2000 vintage is a mellow wine that is characterized by a full and rich mouth but above all by a remarkable balance between sugar and acidity. From the attack, a dash of freshness enhances a multitude of aromas, exotic (mango, pineapple), candied (orange peel, dry apricot), spicy (vanilla, cinnamon and floral. This zest of acidity contributes to a very long finish, marked more by the aromas of very ripe fruit than by the sweetness. The natural concentration of this wine makes it a wine to guard par excellence.
