Located less than a kilometre south of the medieval heart of Saint-Emilion, contiguous to the Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Angélus, the vineyard of Château Fonrazade extends over thirteen hectares on the southwest slope of the Mazerat hill.
Château Fonrazade wine is a typical wine of the Appellation Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, soft and generous, elegantly fruity, well structured and long lasting.
This 2011 vintage has a sustained brick red colour with carmine highlights. The nose of ripe fruit is noted by a nascent bouquet with notes of truffles and autumn undergrowth. The palate is ample and generous with the power and freshness of rich tannins and still young.
