Château du Calvaire

The Château du Calvaire takes place at the foot of the cross of Touran on the soil of Saint-Etienne-de-Laix, a small village in the heart of the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation.

The 1998 vintage is a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). It has a brilliant purple colour. It reveals aromas of blackberry, plum, blackcurrant and plum, complemented by cinnamon, oriental spices and bitter chocolate. It is a balanced red wine that is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to its vital fruity acidity, it is exceptionally fresh and alive in the mouth. In the end, this wine is enthusiastic by its considerable length. There are also notes of cassis and blueberry.
