The Château d’Issan is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages. Then for three centuries, several families will succeed each other at the head of the castle. The 1855 classification consecrates its fabulous terroir and it reaches the rank of 3rd Grand Cru Classé. Issan is then called a Castle with only Lafite, Margaux, Latour and Beychevelle. Through tenacity, passion and effort, the different generations who have worked for the rebirth of the Château d’Issan have given it all its letters of nobility.
Marked by roasting, blackberry and blueberry at the same time, this 2004 vintage reveals a most successful Margaux. Wine with deep purple color, it has a beautiful purity of expression, developing deep aromas, in a set with silky texture.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château d’Issan 2004 rated 91/100.
