A Family Estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The Brunel family’s winemaking tradition dates back to the 17th century. In 1945, Gaston Brunel acquired the Château de la Gardine in Châteauneuf du Pape. The estate is now owned by its heirs and it extends over 52 hectares of vineyards grouped around the property. The estate is famous for the quality of the wines but also for its iconic Gardine bottle. Today about 70% of the production is exported to about thirty countries.

This 2013 vintage is made from Grenache (75%) and Syrah (25%). It is a very elegant, opulent and rich wine. The tannins are silky and the length in the mouth and persistent, infallible sign of its quality and its potential for evolution. To the eye, the dress is beautiful with a deep garnet color with purple reflections. On the nose, it develops notes of cassis, violet, blackberry, liquorice. The mouth is full-bodied and generous. It will evolve in some time on more complex aromas of cherry to clafoutis, kirsch, stone fruit, prune and leather.
