Château Chasse Spleen

2004

Château Chasse Spleen is an exceptional Grand Cru in Moulis en Médoc. The story begins in 1760 under the ownership of Sieur Gressier. In 1822, the game of marriage and inheritance split the estate in two: Gressier-Grand-Poujeaux and Grand-Poujeaux Castaing. In 1976, Jacques Merlaut acquired the estate of Chasse-Spleen and it is his daughter Bernadette then his granddaughter Céline Villars who take the direction. In 2003 the Merlaut-Villars finally bought the Château Gressier-Grand-Poujeaux and completed the history of the estate.

Harmonious, tannic, full-bodied, powerfully bouqueté and of great elegance, this 2004 vintage is distinguished by a very pronounced ruby color and a ripe bouquet from which plum notes escape. This vintage can easily compete with the best classified growths of the Médoc.
