The origins of Château Brane-Cantenac date back to the 16th century. In 1855, Château Brane Cantenac was classified as 2nd Grand Cru. In 1925, the Lurton family bought this prestigious vintage that perpetuates the style of wines from generation to generation. The harvest is then precise, vinification controlled thanks to new technologies and careful aging in French oak barrels.
This 2006 vintage is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (more than 60%), complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a pinch of Carmenère. It presents a rich bouquet, from blackberry to violet through the truffle. In the mouth, we find typical Margalaise tannins, both soft and elegant. It is a superb wine of very high flight that ages with grace.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château Brane Cantenac 2006 rated 89/100.
