Pommard

Château de Pommard

2009

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

Renowned as the largest exploitation of Burgundy (with 26 ha), the Château de Pommard is also one of its most majestic. Built in 1726, the castle belonged to the Marey-Monge until 1936, a notable family that helped establish the reputation of Pommard among the best red wines of France by traveling the world and tasting its nectars. In 2003, he fell under the influence of Maurice Giraud, a Savoyard businessman, who immediately hired the services of Philippe Charlopin and then Emmanuel Sala as oenologists.

This 2009 vintage has a deep garnet color. On the nose, aromas of red fruits (burlat cherry, raspberry) emerge with subtle notes of spices. The palate is dense and concentrated on a beautiful ripe fruit with rich tannins, complemented by notes of red fruits and a spicy touch. The attack is smooth and delicate, the balance between power and fruitiness is perfect.
