Saint Julien Grand Cru Classé

Château Branaire (Duluc Ducru)

1993

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

Grand Cru Classé in 1855, the Château Branaire-Ducru is one of the great names of the Saint-Julien appellation. Owned by François-Xavier Maroteaux, the son of the late Patrick Maroteaux, and directed by Jean-Dominique Videau, Château Branaire-Ducru offers, vintage after vintage, a superb expression of this great terroir of the left bank of Bordeaux with wines recognized for their elegance, their velvety texture in the mouth and their regularity.

The aromatic complexity and purity of a Grand Cru de Saint-Julien full of taste and finesse.

This 1993 vintage presents a very elegant purple dress and has a slight tuilage. The nose is first on red and black berries, with old leather. A menthol side and undergrowth are noted. In the mouth, the nose is found with tannins from fondus. The attack is on the sugar of the fruit. It is ample and assertive, the bitterness and acidity are well present. The finish is on a complex fruitiness with roasting.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château Branaire Ducru 2004 rated 84/100.
