Domaine du Clos Frantin – Albert Bichot

The trading house was born in Monthélie, in 1831, under the impetus of Bernard Bichot and will experience a rapid growth during the 19^th century by becoming the official supplier of the Court of Sweden. Albert Bichot has taken over the reins of the company since 1996, perpetuating the family heritage with the right dose of modernity. Today, it manages more than 100 hectares of vineyards, spread from the north to the south of Burgundy, and grouped into 6 prestigious estates. Respect for the terroir, perfect control of vinifications, Albert Bichot wines are carriers of an emotion, a philosophy that make the House one of the greatest names in Burgundy.

The Domaine du Clos Frantin is located in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, a land of Pinot Noir and the rarest and most prestigious appellations. It covers 13.2 hectares, of which 3.9 are Premiers and Grands Crus.

Described as exceptional, the 2009 vintage has a beautiful garnet color. On the nose, it exudes an extravagant bouquet of rose petals, Asian spices, grilled meat, rock salt, espresso roasting, rich earthy tones, plums and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied, ample and richly structured around fine-grained chalky tannins, with a deep and multidimensional core and succulent underlying acids, ending in a long fragrant finish.
