The appellation Maranges is the last born of the Côte de Beaune, it was created in May 1989. It covers almost 171 hectares, spread over three villages: Dezize-les-Maranges, Cheilly-les-Maranges and Sampigny-les-Maranges. This appellation produces mainly red wines, namely 95% of the total production.

This 2008 vintage has a dark colour. The bouquet is well-opened with notes of black fruit and flint. The mouth is intense, full-bodied and oily to perfection. It is built on a fruity, concentrated and ripe red berries, which comes in contrast to an assertive structure and an uncompromising saline minerality. The fruity dominates the finish, with a persistent aromatic return.
