Col de Mollo
The Jonquères d’Oriola family has been producing excellent wines since 1485 on the counters of the Pyrenees. This wine was born from the desire of the Jonquères d’Oriola and Tourame families to produce an exceptional wine from the Collioure appellation. The vines are located at 231 meters above sea level at Col de Mollo, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea on vertiginous slopes of shale.
The AOC Collioure Blanc only exists since 2003, which means that the appellation is young.
The production of Collioure Blanc is anecdotal, which makes them wines always very rare and sought after for their great qualities.
From a blend of Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, this 2022 vintage has a sparkling yellow-green intense color. The nose reveals notes of chestnut, toasted bread and flower of broth. When stirred, fruits are expressed: williams pear, apricot and fresh pineapple. Vanilla, fennel and cinnamon complete the aromatic palette. In the mouth, the wine is round and amazing with gourmandise, the chestnut cream mixes with apricot and mango. The finish on the palate is stretched by delicate tannins.
