The vineyard of Clos Haut Peyraguey, nestled at the highest point of the plateau of the commune of Bommes in the Sauternes is at the heart of the Premiers Crus Classés in 1855. Facing the Château d’Yquem, this former barony has passed through the centuries since its first harvest in 1618, benefiting from a unique terroir and climatic conditions combined with an ancestral know-how allowing it to play with its grapes, a symphony of excellence giving a unique and prestigious gold wine. The Clos Haut-Peyraguey is part of the Bernard Magrez galaxy.
This 2008 vintage, finer than capitous, is fruity. It develops nuances of peach, apricot, honey, spices and candied citrus. The straw-coloured colour and pure mouth of Clos Haut Peyraguey after a few years of ageing testify to its full potential.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Clos haut Peyraguey 2008 rated 91/100.
