The Château de Rayne Vigneau is among the first Grands Crus Classés of Sauternes in the official classification of 1855. Its vineyard extends over an area of 84 hectares in one piece on a vast croup dominating its terroir.
Made from a blend of Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon Blanc (20%), this 2007 vintage has a golden color with honey reflections. The very expressive nose develops aromas of candied orange, lemon zest leaving a great freshness. In the mouth, the wine shows a remarkable balance sugar/ acid.
Honey, figs, raisins, a lemon peel for freshness… Elegant and dense, this wine combines beautiful balance and great length.
Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château de Rayne Vigneau 2007 rated 95/100.
