1989

Bottle (0,75L)

« A Second Cru of first-class » as the Wine Spectator magazine summed it up wonderfully a few years ago, but the formula has not aged !

Second Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac in the closed circle of the greatest bordeaux, the magnificent Château Pichon-Longueville – Comtesse de Lalande radiates on the appellation Pauillac. It was in 1925 that the Miailhe family, under the guise of Édouard and Louis Miailhe, acquired this property on the left bank of Bordeaux. Emblematic figure of the Gironde viticulture, May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, daughter of Edouard Miailhe, runs the Château Pichon-Longueville – Comtesse de Lalande from 1978 to 2007, date of the acquisition of the estate by the Rouzaud family, owner of the Maison de Champagne Louis Roederer.

This 1989 vintage has a deep purple color. On the nose, we discover a bouquet of aromas of red and black berries of cassis, stewed blueberries and ripe raspberries, embellished with notes of cinnamon, violet flower or menthol. In the mouth the wine reveals incredibly velvety tannins, wrapped in fruity flavors and a beautiful finish.
