Haut Médoc

Château Caronnes Sainte Gemme

2014

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

The property was bought in 1900 by Emile Borie, grandfather of Jean Nony-Borie who has been managing it since 1943 with his nephew François Nony, for the succession. Neighbouring the Lagrange, Gruaud Larose, Belgrave and La Tour Carnet castles, Château Caronne Sainte-Gemme is located on the outskirts of Saint Laurent du Médoc which adjoins Saint Julien. The vineyard has an area of 150 hectares, including 45 hectares of vines in one piece extending over a croup of deep graves.

As far as the assemblage is concerned, there is 60% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% of Merlot and 3% of Petit Verdot. This 2014 vintage reveals a fresh and frank nose, on a crunchy and juicy fruit. The palate is brilliant, the tannins silky, with still a little oaky, prolonged by a long and sweet finish.
