En travertin
At its creation by Henri Bourgeois in 1950, the property had 1.5 ha of vines in Chavignol. Today, the last generation (Arnaud, Jean-Christophe and Lionel) is at the head of 72 ha spread over 120 plots, not counting the 30 ha of Clos Henri Vineyard acquired in New Zealand. A sure bet in Sancerre !
The Pouilly-Fumé “En Travertin” takes its name from the soils rich in travertine (limestone), which gives the wine great minerality and remarkable tension. This particular terroir, associated with the mastery of the Domaine Henri Bourgeois, gives a wine of rare finesse and precision
This 2023 vintage is a high-end wine, of great elegance. It offers another vision of the Sauvignon blanc by embodying seduction and femininity. Concentrated and fresh at the same time, it develops notes of citrus, yellow fruits and smoky aromas. Of course, it retains a mineral and persistent finish, specific to the appellation.
