Pomerol

Château La Pointe

2006

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

Considered one of the oldest properties in Pomerol, Château La Pointe watches over a 23 hectares vineyard. The property owes its uniqueness to its mosaic of soils which gives its wines from the right bank of Bordeaux a finesse and quality unanimously recognized since the 19th century.

The property dates from 1845, and has been controlled by the d’Arfeuille family since 1941. Since 2006, it has belonged to the insurance company Generali France. Since then, several key improvements have been made to both viticulture and winemaking.

This 2006 vintage features a deep dark ruby garnet robe with juvenile reflections on the purple disc. On the nose, fine spices of noble wood, delicate notes of black truffles and balsam, black berries, attractive. On the palate, juicy, chocolate tannins, light touch of dried fruits, powerful, a lot of nougat in the finish, good potential.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château La Pointe 2006 rated 88/100.
