Château Chasse Spleen

2015

Bottle (0,75L)

Château Chasse Spleen is an exceptional Grand Cru in Moulis in the Médoc. The story begins in 1760 under the ownership of Sieur Gressier. In 1822, the game of marriages and heritages splits the estate into two: Gressier-Grand-Poujeaux and Grand-Poujeaux Castaing. In 1976, Jacques Merlaut acquired the estate of Chasse-Spleen and it was his daughter Bernadette and her granddaughter Céline Villars who took over. In 2003, the Merlaut-Villars finally bought Château Gressier-Grand-Poujeaux and ended the history of the estate.

This 2015 vintage is a bright and clear color of dark garnet. The nose reveals a very light toasted and an elegant black fruity and some balsamic notes. The wine reveals a beautiful intensity in the mouth, a woody structure supporting perfectly acidulous aromas of wood strawberry. Of good length, the wine is charming in the final. Wine of good garde.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Château Chasse Spleen 2015 rated 82/100.
