Château Chasse Spleen

2014

Château Chasse Spleen is an exceptional Grand Cru in Moulis in the Médoc. The story begins in 1760 under the ownership of Sieur Gressier. In 1822, the game of marriages and heritages splits the domain into two: Gressier-Grand-Poujeaux and Grand-Poujeaux Castaing. In 1976, Jacques Merlaut acquired the estate of Chasse-Spleen and his daughter Bernadette and then his granddaughter Céline Villars took over. In 2003, the Merlaut-Villars finally bought Château Gressier-Grand-Poujeaux and ended the history of the estate.

This 2014 vintage is a beautiful garnet red wine with an expressive nose and seductive aromas of black fruits and vegetables. The attack is soft and dense, the wine is green and tannic but without missing background. It will be done in time since it is designed for long guard. In summary, aromatic intensity, flexibility and finesse define this 2014 vintage.
