Wine of the Prince of Denmark

Cuvée Majesté

Located in the heart of the vineyard of Cahors, the Château de Cayx is already listed in the 15th century. It was in 1974 that Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Consort of Denmark, born Henri de Laborde de Monpezat, from an old family of the region, acquired the Château de Cayx and began a major restoration. Under the impetus of Prince Henrik, Château de Cayx has gradually rediscovered its prestigious 21-hectare vineyard, excellently exposed to the south.

Composed 100% of Malbec, this 2011 vintage reveals an intense and complex nose offering a refined marriage of black fruits, vanilla and chocolate, stimulated by menthol notes. The palate, both robust, velvety and smooth, reveals a woody finish that fades gradually in front of the fruit.
