Gabriel Meffre, a renowned Vaucluse nurseryman who came to sell Cabernet Sauvignon plants fell in love with the Médoc and decided to settle there in 1954. From old plots of Château Lagrange in Saint-Julien, he founded Château Lalande. His two sons are now in charge of the property.
This 2009 vintage presents a beautiful color of a dark ruby with garnet reflections. The aromatic palette is fine, intense and complex – with several successive layers of aromas that are revealed as aeration and scents from growing under wood. Tenderness and finesse define the velvet palate, with a dense and ample material supported by silky tannins. Excellent wine of guard !
