Château Ormes de Pez

2009

Bottle (0,75L)
Red
Dry

The origins of Château Ormes de Pez go back to the middle of the 18th century. Located on the edge of the hamlet of Pez, west of the town of Saint-Estèphe, the estate owes its name to a magnificent grove of elms, now gone. With the Château Lynch-Bages in 1939, this is the second property acquired by the Cazes family in the 1930s.

Château Ormes de Pez was designated Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel during the revision of the classification of Crus Bourgeois in June 2003.

This 2009 vintage has a beautiful deep purple nuanced violet. The bouquet is fine and elegant, rich in red and black fruits and spices on a delicate merrain. The palate, rising, seduced by its sap, its density, its freshness, its perfectly controlled wood and its solid structure built on very well extracted tannins. The whole is in great harmony, and the years of conservation allow it today to reach its fullness.
