La Romanée – Monopole

Philippe Chéron is installed in the Domaine du Couvent, a family property of the former convent of Gevrey-Chambertin. The winery, which covers an area of 10 hectares, extends over exceptional terroirs exclusively on the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard forms a mosaic of plots mainly distributed on the municipalities of Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

The terroir of the Romanée (closed monopoly of one hectare located in the Combe de Lavaux, at the very top of the appellation) gives rise to a fine and elegant wine, with soft tannins and a charming nose.

Very colorful, this 2017 vintage has an intense and expressive nose, where the aromas of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry blend harmoniously with deeper notes of black fruit, licorice, menthol and sweet spices. A subtle woody touch adds the perfect balance between fruitiness and complexity.
