Domaine René Bouvier

The Domaine was created in 1910 by Henri Bouvier and taken over by René in 1950 who expanded to 12 ha in 1991. The Domaine was then installed on Marsannay. Today, the estate is located in Brochon, north of Gevrey-Chambertin and covers 18 hectares, spread over 20 prestigious appellations in Burgundy.

The vineyard, an invaluable heritage of very old vines sprinkles the plots of these exceptional terroirs. They are the treasure of the estate that Bernard Bouvier strives to preserve through viticulture respectful of soil and biodiversity.

Over the years, Domaine René Bouvier has become one of the most exciting estates in the Côte de Nuits for the quality, consistency and pleasure that wines provide. By force of reflection and questioning, Bernard Bouvier has managed to transcribe in his wines all the grace of Pinot that is expressed here with emotion and length.

From a dark ruby red color, this 2006 vintage reveals a nose with liquorice and clove aromas accompanied by smoky notes. Its mouth, ample and round, reveals aromas of roasted coffee and mocha. This wine, with velvet tannins, is very elegant.
